美媒称，万豪国际酒店集团拟以136亿美元价格收购喜达屋酒店及度假村国际集团一案遇到了来自中国的阻碍。
据美国《华盛顿邮报》网站8月8日报道，这一并购案将产生世界上最大的酒店企业。总部设在美国贝塞斯达的酒店管理业巨头万豪国际酒店集团8日说，中国商务部已决定将其对该集团收购喜达屋一案的审查期限延长至多60天。
报道称，中国监管部门的绿灯是万豪剩下的最后一道坎，它此前已经获得美国、欧盟等40个国家监管机构的批准。
万豪今天在一份声明中说：“万豪与喜达屋仍然认为，它们计划中的并购交易在中国不构成反竞争问题。”
在这一暂时性的延期之前，万豪与中国安邦保险集团领衔的财团曾展开一场激烈的竞购大战，后者曾出价140亿美元收购喜达屋，但在今年4月放弃竞购。
根据7月28日万豪高管与华尔街分析师的电话通话内容，他们原本预计中国政府将在8月9日完成反垄断审查。这一最新情况将把审查过程延长至多两个月。
报道称，一旦交易获得批准，合并后的酒店集团的总部将设在美国贝塞斯达，拥有30个品牌和110万间酒店房间。它将同时拥有万豪旗下的万怡、丽思卡尔顿和万丽酒店品牌以及喜达屋旗下的喜来登、威斯汀和瑞吉酒店品牌。

The hotel is situated in a really old shanty pocket of Shanghai, but conveniently close to Sichuan North Road commercial area (shopping) and the former art district (culture including Luxun Museum etc.) and lines 4 (SH railway station convenient) and 10(?); through the latter one may reach line 2 with ease. The hotel is suitably clean for a local establishment though many of the appliances and cupboards are functionally sub-par. I stayed 2 nights and the cleaning service never came even when I asked for it which was amazing as I think I was the only guest at the hotel that time. The front desk staff are constantly asleep or look annoyed when you ask them for things (ie. cleaning service or whatever). The TV had horrible static though the internet was pretty fast. Overall, this is a hotel with a lot of potential (old building with a lot of original structures), but suffers from bad housekeeping and unprofessional general management and staff training.
