Expedia于上周宣布，不再在搜索结果中刻意将酒店放在不显眼的位置(“dimming”)。这一消息的确值得酒店业为之欢呼。
不过，此前曾有消息称，酒店在旺季时就不再向OTA提供房价，导致OTA在特定时段内业务惨淡，于是OTA会降低酒店在搜索结果中的排名。所以，Expedia此举着实让酒店业兴奋不已。
Michel认为，部分OTA收取的高额佣金无异于“掠夺他人辛勤劳动的果实和利润。”
Michel认为，较低的佣金模式完全行得通;他还质疑OTA在分销渠道中的价值，因为酒店可以通过Airbnb或HomeAway等渠道进行分销，而且支付给这些平台的佣金也没有那么高。

The hotel is situated in a really old shanty pocket of Shanghai, but conveniently close to Sichuan North Road commercial area (shopping) and the former art district (culture including Luxun Museum etc.) and lines 4 (SH railway station convenient) and 10(?); through the latter one may reach line 2 with ease. The hotel is suitably clean for a local establishment though many of the appliances and cupboards are functionally sub-par. I stayed 2 nights and the cleaning service never came even when I asked for it which was amazing as I think I was the only guest at the hotel that time. The front desk staff are constantly asleep or look annoyed when you ask them for things (ie. cleaning service or whatever). The TV had horrible static though the internet was pretty fast. Overall, this is a hotel with a lot of potential (old building with a lot of original structures), but suffers from bad housekeeping and unprofessional general management and staff training.
