受公款消费限制等因素影响，不少度假村都遭遇经营难题，而转型养老则成为了一根“救命稻草”。业内分析人士指出，近年来，各地度假村纷纷变身养老护理机构，但这种转型一般都要支付大笔改造费用，同时在后续经营、管理方面也可能没有成熟经验，且目前尚没有很好的盈利模式可借鉴。
一家高端养老机构负责人曾坦言，高端养老因为每月收费可达上万元，所以外界看起来很赚钱，但实际上盈利情况不甚理想。业内人士认为：总体来看，度假村不能把养老作为短期内扭转业绩低迷的法宝，而应把这一领域视为长期的事业，改变原有经营模式，转而研究老年人的需求，放弃挣快钱的想法，合力趟出“钱途”。

The hotel is situated in a really old shanty pocket of Shanghai, but conveniently close to Sichuan North Road commercial area (shopping) and the former art district (culture including Luxun Museum etc.) and lines 4 (SH railway station convenient) and 10(?); through the latter one may reach line 2 with ease. The hotel is suitably clean for a local establishment though many of the appliances and cupboards are functionally sub-par. I stayed 2 nights and the cleaning service never came even when I asked for it which was amazing as I think I was the only guest at the hotel that time. The front desk staff are constantly asleep or look annoyed when you ask them for things (ie. cleaning service or whatever). The TV had horrible static though the internet was pretty fast. Overall, this is a hotel with a lot of potential (old building with a lot of original structures), but suffers from bad housekeeping and unprofessional general management and staff training.
