就眼下的形势，酒店是否能离开酒店管理公司独立生存?
单体酒店的案例最能说明问题。经过4年的独立摸索，湖南江永女书酒店创始人陶继新依然感到“管理混乱”，并认为“还是觉得交给好的管理公司最合适”。他已经计划要加盟华天酒店。
“华天在降低加盟的门槛。”陶继新认为，“选择中资公司管理，一般看在当地的影响力。对单体酒店而言，我认为最初还是需要酒管公司这种模式。”
在国内某酒店集团担任区域负责人的吕修全(化名)告诉记者，困难重重的大环境下，很多酒店和酒管公司频频上演“爱恨别离”，“但总是在几家间游走”。
“创新的模式有，都还在摸索中;加上如今OTA费用成本越来越大，单打独斗不现实。大家基本还脱离不了这个模式。”吕修全说道。
这对酒店来说无疑是一副灰暗的画卷：选择酒管，难以盈利;自己运营，更难盈利。最后只能两害相权取其轻。
“很多酒管公司总部现在只有20~30人，管着全国30多家店，涉及度假、景区、酒店等各方面。好几个品牌在手、但总体来说不怎么赚钱。大家并没有专业地垂直到一个细分市场。虽然重视营销，可没有系统作战能力。”
提及观察到的现象，胡升阳认为改变一定正在某处酝酿。“我认为，一两年内就会出现取代酒店管理公司的新模式。”

The hotel is situated in a really old shanty pocket of Shanghai, but conveniently close to Sichuan North Road commercial area (shopping) and the former art district (culture including Luxun Museum etc.) and lines 4 (SH railway station convenient) and 10(?); through the latter one may reach line 2 with ease. The hotel is suitably clean for a local establishment though many of the appliances and cupboards are functionally sub-par. I stayed 2 nights and the cleaning service never came even when I asked for it which was amazing as I think I was the only guest at the hotel that time. The front desk staff are constantly asleep or look annoyed when you ask them for things (ie. cleaning service or whatever). The TV had horrible static though the internet was pretty fast. Overall, this is a hotel with a lot of potential (old building with a lot of original structures), but suffers from bad housekeeping and unprofessional general management and staff training.
