在去年斥资122亿美元收购喜达屋后，近日，万豪和喜达屋在两日内接连宣布调整旗下酒店CAT等级。
其中，万豪将在3月24日对旗下的553家酒店进行升级，万豪及丽思卡尔顿则有237家酒店遭到降级处理。而喜达屋SPG旗下酒店的登记调整则提前到3月1日起执行，共涉及全球范围内的282家酒店。
据了解，万豪方面升级的553家酒店中，中国地区有4家，其中3家集中在上海，分别为上海中山公园万丽、上海虹桥万豪、上海卢湾万豪。与之相比，万豪旗下的中国区酒店遭遇降级的则为10家，其中北京地区的北京城墙万豪酒店、北京富力万丽酒店2家均由CAT4调整到CAT3,北京JW万豪酒店则由CAT5降到CAT4。
去年已被万豪收入囊中的喜达屋SPG的CAT等级调整计划则显示，有22家中国区酒店被纳入升级计划，其中，升级完成后澳门瑞吉(CAT5-6)将成为中国地区CAT等级最高的酒店。同时，也有包括北京雅乐轩、桂林福朋喜来登等4家酒店等级被降为1级。
值得一提的是，在调整CAT等级的同时，万豪的积分兑换表格也有所调整。如万豪最新的“CASH+POINTS”显示，45美元加上3000点的积分可以兑换7500点的积分，而7500点的积分刚好可以入住等级为CAT1的酒店。等级最高(CAT9)的酒店也可以用220美元加28000分的积分兑换。
一名酒店业内人士介绍，虽然此次是两家酒店集团合并后首次调整CAT等级，但实际上，全球各大酒店集团每年都会对旗下酒店等级做出相应调整，对消费者来说，CAT等级的下降意味着可以用更少的会员积分获取更多的服务。

The hotel is situated in a really old shanty pocket of Shanghai, but conveniently close to Sichuan North Road commercial area (shopping) and the former art district (culture including Luxun Museum etc.) and lines 4 (SH railway station convenient) and 10(?); through the latter one may reach line 2 with ease. The hotel is suitably clean for a local establishment though many of the appliances and cupboards are functionally sub-par. I stayed 2 nights and the cleaning service never came even when I asked for it which was amazing as I think I was the only guest at the hotel that time. The front desk staff are constantly asleep or look annoyed when you ask them for things (ie. cleaning service or whatever). The TV had horrible static though the internet was pretty fast. Overall, this is a hotel with a lot of potential (old building with a lot of original structures), but suffers from bad housekeeping and unprofessional general management and staff training.
