8月20日，一名网友在某论坛发帖称，三里屯通盈中心洲际酒店服务存在问题。据该网友描述，酒店入住后，浴巾上出现长发，同时玻璃杯也有使用痕迹。该网友在与前厅部副经理和行政副管家沟通后，进行了换房。但换房后，房间依然出现问题，房间门锁、地漏等设施发生故障。
该网友表示，在离店后，因仍对酒店服务态度满意，所以再下订单，预订成功后却在没有回复和沟通的情况下被取消。该网友继续预订，同样也被无故取消。在与酒店联系后，收到了一条疑似酒店工作人员的短信。短信中称：“我们很抱歉地通知您，我们取消了您的预订，因为我们暂时无法保证在您下一次入住时不会出现您上一次入住遇到的问题。”短信末尾落款为“北京三里屯通盈中心洲际酒店预订部”。
消息公开后，迅速引发了大量关注，然而此事背后仍存有诸多疑点。记者试图联系该名发帖网友，但未能得到回复。

The hotel is situated in a really old shanty pocket of Shanghai, but conveniently close to Sichuan North Road commercial area (shopping) and the former art district (culture including Luxun Museum etc.) and lines 4 (SH railway station convenient) and 10(?); through the latter one may reach line 2 with ease. The hotel is suitably clean for a local establishment though many of the appliances and cupboards are functionally sub-par. I stayed 2 nights and the cleaning service never came even when I asked for it which was amazing as I think I was the only guest at the hotel that time. The front desk staff are constantly asleep or look annoyed when you ask them for things (ie. cleaning service or whatever). The TV had horrible static though the internet was pretty fast. Overall, this is a hotel with a lot of potential (old building with a lot of original structures), but suffers from bad housekeeping and unprofessional general management and staff training.
