从产业现状看，中国酒店行业走过了多年高速发展之路，业态逐渐完整、水平逐级提升，对国民经济发展和拉动内需的效能日益显现。与此同时，市场也出现了供需脱节、产品同质、服务下降、效益下滑等诸多问题，特别是星级饭店，已连续3年全行业亏损。
许多人说酒店是一个不善于变化的行业，这么多年过去了，技术手段、服务方式、营销模式都没有太大的突破。但是当下需求结构的调整、消费主体的变化、消费诉求的升级、互联网渗透到消费习惯和消费方式的方方面面等趋势，似乎都在“逼着“酒店业去改变。
古人有句话说得很好，叫做“古不乖时，今不同弊”，意思是说：既要继承传统，但又不能背离当前的时代需求，我们应该顺应当今时代的变化，在传统的基础上去发展创新，但不要沾染这个时期肤浅流行的弊病。这么说来，传统的酒店供给利弊共存，而新的供给形式也不见得就是完美无缺的。因此对于“新”与“旧”，我们不应该单纯地强调对立而应该强调二者之间的融合，期待酒店业在“新”与“旧”的交锋中重获生机!

The hotel is situated in a really old shanty pocket of Shanghai, but conveniently close to Sichuan North Road commercial area (shopping) and the former art district (culture including Luxun Museum etc.) and lines 4 (SH railway station convenient) and 10(?); through the latter one may reach line 2 with ease. The hotel is suitably clean for a local establishment though many of the appliances and cupboards are functionally sub-par. I stayed 2 nights and the cleaning service never came even when I asked for it which was amazing as I think I was the only guest at the hotel that time. The front desk staff are constantly asleep or look annoyed when you ask them for things (ie. cleaning service or whatever). The TV had horrible static though the internet was pretty fast. Overall, this is a hotel with a lot of potential (old building with a lot of original structures), but suffers from bad housekeeping and unprofessional general management and staff training.
