据了解，华天酒店以酒店经营为主业，房地产开发、资产运营为辅。酒店主业连年亏损，近来公司也尝试了其他业务的转型。
年报显示，房地产实现营业收入5091.4万元，比上年同期增加1323.2万元，增幅35.11%。地产收入主要来自于张家界华天城地产项目及益阳银城项目。
其他行业实现营业收入292.79万元，同比上年39.54万元增加了253.25万元，增幅640.49%，其他行业收入增长主要来自于公司今年新成立的华天云服电子商务公司，通过O2O的模式，将公司的洗衣、家政等服务通过线上模式推广至线下。
从华天酒店的公告中也能看出，华天希望在酒店之外产业转型及延伸投资的战略意图，目前包括其投资星艺华天、华天云服、华天养老等项目，基本上还是以盘活公司酒店旅游存量资产为目的。
今年3月8日，华天酒店公告，公司全资子公司长春华天酒店管理有限公司拟出资1亿元投资参股并发起设立“江山财险”。4月1日，华天酒店全资子公司湖南华天资产管理有限公司拟出资人民币2500万元投资参股北京星亿东方文化科技服务有限公司（以下简称“星亿东方”）。同时，华天资管与星亿东方共同投资设立北京星亿华天文化旅游产业发展有限公司，开展文化旅游地产投资、管理和运营业务。

The hotel is situated in a really old shanty pocket of Shanghai, but conveniently close to Sichuan North Road commercial area (shopping) and the former art district (culture including Luxun Museum etc.) and lines 4 (SH railway station convenient) and 10(?); through the latter one may reach line 2 with ease. The hotel is suitably clean for a local establishment though many of the appliances and cupboards are functionally sub-par. I stayed 2 nights and the cleaning service never came even when I asked for it which was amazing as I think I was the only guest at the hotel that time. The front desk staff are constantly asleep or look annoyed when you ask them for things (ie. cleaning service or whatever). The TV had horrible static though the internet was pretty fast. Overall, this is a hotel with a lot of potential (old building with a lot of original structures), but suffers from bad housekeeping and unprofessional general management and staff training.
